Andrew Divoff Battling Zombies in Night of the Living Dead 3D: Resurrection

Remember back in 2006 there was a 3D remake of Night of the Living Dead called Night of the Living Dead 3D starring the great Sid Haig? Yeah. I know. Some of you would rather forget it, but either way we’re getting a sequel.

According to What’s Playing Dimensional Dead Productions have tapped Andrew Divoff (“Lost”, Wishmaster) as the lead in their prequel/sequel, Night of the Living Dead 3D: Resurrection.

In this upcoming 3D flick, pyrophobic mortician, Gerald Tovar (now played by Divoff instead of Haig), Jr. inherits the family mortuary and accidentally lets hundreds of uncremated bodies become exposed to toxic medical waste. As the corpses re-animate, Harold Tovar, the mortician’s inheritance-seeking younger brother expectantly shows up, stumbling upon a full outbreak of the walking dead.

Brace yourselves.

Some of us? I think all of us would rather forget it. Not even Sid’s most ardent supporters can defend that piece of dog crap NOTL3D. It was an embarrassment. It worked against everything the original film tried for, and adding Haig who is clearly just collecting a paycheck was an abomination up and down. Embarrassing moment for such a heavyweight.

I hope no hope this will be any different.

With you 100% on this one Terminal. If ever there was a moment when I genuinely lamented the public domain status of Romero’s masterpiece, NOTLD3D was it. Most of the time, a truly awful horror remake will leave me feeling either angry or amused at the incompetence of the hacks responsible.
This film constitutes the only time I actually felt sad after viewing, dismayed that there’s bound to be someone from the next generation of horror fans who will inevitably stumble upon this wretched piece of shit and not understand that it’s nothing more than an aberrant blemish on the name of a truly frightening and expertly crafted piece of work.
