Exclusive Look at Character Profiles from Charlaine Harris’ Dying for Daylight PC Game

Published

on

As we told you earlier this week, Dying for Daylight, a PC game created by I-play in collaboration with Charlaine Harris, author of the Sookie Stackhouse novels that inspired HBO’s “True Blood”, will be available for download tomorrow, February 11th, and to celebrate, we have an exclusive look at the character profiles from the game.

While Charlaine’s ability to tell gripping, edge-of-your-seat, supernatural stories has transcended several types of media already, Dying for Daylight, in which you play as Harris’ popular vampire character Dahlia, marks her foray into the world of interactive games.

Synopsis:
In Dying for Daylight Dahlia takes players on an epic journey across New Orleans, Memphis, and Charleston Harbor to find a legendary sun potion allowing vampires to survive in daylight. Discovering she is not the only one after this powerful tonic, Dahlia must match her wits against a rival sect of vampires who have scattered the ingredients among an avant-garde circus troupe. With each eclectic troupe member holding a piece of the potion, Dahlia must uncover their devious secrets and procure the mixture before it falls into the wrong hands. By collecting clues, solving puzzles, and gathering the needed ingredients, players will guide Dahlia in her mission to find the legendary potion before it’s too late.

“Taking a character into the world of games is great fun and allows us to tell stories and bring characters to life in a whole new way,” says Harris. “Just like Sookie, Dahlia is a unique and multi-faceted character. Working with I-play to present her in this new way has been an amazing experience, and I can’t wait to hear what fans think of the results.”

Check out the profiles and a trailer for the game below, and be sure to visit the Dying for Daylight website for more. To learn a bit about Dahlia, order a copy of one or more of the short story collections in which she can be found from the Evilshop below.

Who Goes There Podcast: Ep 148 – Inside (2017 Remake)

Published

on

We’ve all heard the old saying, “in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.” Well, I’m here to tell you that’s only partially true. It seems there is a third certainty that had been omitted from the original quote, “It is certain, if you enjoy a movie, at some point someone will remake that movie.” Now is the time when one of my favorite movies gets reimagined, “for an American audience”.

In the late 2000’s an explosion of “French extreme” horror films was released. Martyrs and or High Tension can often be found on any number of lists of the “most fucked up horror movies ever”. Unfortunately, the vastly superior Inside is often forgotten (as well as Frontier(s), but that’s a whole ‘nother rant). Now, ten years after it’s initial release, Inside has been Americanized. Don’t worry, we watched it so you don’t have to. You’re welcome.

Mommy says you’re not dead. Is that true? It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 148!

PG-13 or R? The Strangers: Prey at Night Gets Official MPAA Rating

Published

on

Earlier this week we let you guys know that there is a killer The Strangers: Prey at Night fan art competition going on and you can read all the details on that right HERE.

But today we have some cool (if expected) news that The Strangers: Prey At Night hs officially received an R-rating from the MPAA.

The sequel has been rated R for “horror violence and terror throughout, and for language” and I think that makes about as much sense as we could have expected.

For those who are interested in such bits of trivia, the original The Strangers was rated R for “violence/terror and language” so there you go! Impress your friends with MPAA trivia.

Would The Strangers: Prey at Night getting a PG-13 have affected your enthusiasm for the upcoming film? Let us know below!

The Stranger: Prey at Night is directed by Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down) from a script by Bryan Bertino and Ben Ketai. It stars Martin Henderson, Christina Hendricks, Bailee Madison, and Lewis Pullman.

The film hits March 9, 2018.

Synopsis:
A family’s road trip takes a dangerous turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park to stay with some relatives and find it mysteriously deserted. Under the cover of darkness, three masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test the family’s every limit as they struggle to survive. Johannes Roberts directs this horror film inspired by the 2008 smash hit The Strangers.
