Lost Indonesian Man Turns Up in a Very Bad Place in The Gasp Menagerie

default-featured-image

Indonesian palm oil farmer Akbar Salubiro had a really bad day on March 26th. He failed to return from his day harvesting palm oil and was reported missing.

A search initially didn’t turn up anything, but eventually searchers spotted a reticulated python that wasn’t moving. The python was extremely large, over 20 feet long. The python had a large lump in the center.

The lump was vaguely Akbar-shaped.

I don’t think I need to warn you that if you’re squeamish, you should probably just move right along and find some pictures of cavorting puppies.

The Jakarta Post has the story and photos, but YouTube has the video, posted below. It’s extremely NSFW unless you’re a veterinarian.

Poor Akbar was indeed one of the rare human victims of the python, a species that usually sticks to small mammals for feeding.  Just like in the movies, the python squeezes the life out of it’s prey before swallowing them whole.

As for me, I’ll be staying out of Indonesian palm orchards after dark, thank you very much.  I eat enough barbecue that I probably have a permanent smoky molasses flavor.

Explore The Gasp Menagerie!

Have a weird story? Potential evidence of the supernatural, or at least something hard to explain? Spot any creepy critters out there roaming the wilds? LET ME KNOW! I’d love to talk about it and possibly write it up right here in the Gasp Menagerie. You’ll get appropriate credit, of course, and everyone else will get fresh creepy (as opposed to fresh Creepy, which, trust me… nobody wants that) to enjoy. As always, I can be found at mrdark@dreadcentral.com. Now get out there, find some weird, and let’s get this party started.
