Brad AndersonWhile doing the press rounds for his upcoming thriller Vanishing on 7th Street, we got a chance to chat with director Brad Anderson about the status of some of his future projects also, and there are a few things that will pique the interest of you, dear readers.

The director first talked about Jack (which stars Samuel L. Jackson and Liev Schrieber), saying, “The movie focuses on a serial killer who loses his memory after a devastating car accident. Since he can’t remember who he was, he restarts his life as a new man and begins to fall in love with his physical therapist. But as time progresses, he starts getting flashes of his past and has to try to come to terms with his deadly instincts within the context of this new life.”

“With Jack we’ve got to cast one more person, and then we’ve locked all the pieces of that puzzle. We’re hoping to start shooting sometime this fall, and even though it’s being described as a serial killer film, there’s so much more going on than just another slasher movie,” Anderson added.

According to Anderson the rumored project All Lost Souls has been shelved for now, but he did say he’s gearing up to reteam with Oscar-nominated actor Christian Bale and writer Scott Kosar (the trio also teamed up on 2004’s The Machinist ) for Concrete Island , an adaptation of a novel of the same name by J.G. Ballard, which is centered around a man who ends up stranded on a man-made island with his only resources being what he came to the island with. There was no word on how different the screenplay would be versus the novel.

“Hopefully we can get that one going soon, too, but that depends on Christian’s schedule. He’s had quite a year, you know,” said Anderson.
