The massive success of Jordan Peele’s Get Out (review) just keeps on coming. It has now surpassed The Blair Witch Project as the most successful debut film based on an original idea in cinema history, which is nothing to scoff at. Its success proves that audiences are eager for original films, for movies that take risks.

For those who haven’t seen Get Out, Universal and Blumhouse Productions have announced that it will be hitting On Demand, Blu-ray, and DVD on May 23rd (digital HD on May 9th). The release will feature an alternate ending, deleted scenes, commentary from Peele, and more.

You can see the artwork below, and pre-order the film from Amazon now.

Synopsis:
Now that Chris (Daniel Kaluuya, Sicario), a young African-American man, and his girlfriend, Rose (Allison Williams, “Girls”), a young white woman, have been dating for several months, she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate at her family’s home with parents Missy (Catherine Keener, Captain Phillips) and Dean (Bradley Whitford, The Cabin in the Woods). At first Chris reads the family’s overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter’s interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he could have never imagined.
