Famous Monsters Convention Comes to Dallas May 26-28

Ah, Famous Monsters of Filmland. Uncle Forry’s frightful foray into film fear. Forry may be gone, but Famous Monsters goes on, and now they’re bringing a convention to Dallas, TX, in late May. From May 26-28, at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel & Convention Center, fans can find this new collection of genre goodies.
For years, we’ve had a small horror con here and there pop up in DFW to take on the juggernaut that is Texas Frightmare Weekend, but none have caught on. Famous Monsters is throwing their considerable horror cred behind this one and even have the chutzpah to schedule it in the same month as TFW, although at the opposite end.
The FM convention is offering a diverse guest list from sci-fi and fantasy as well as horror, including cast members from “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and the “Power Rangers.” Horror guests include Diane Franklin, Michael Bailey Smith, Sarah Karloff, and special guests from the Godzilla franchise, Keiichi Sakurai and Shinji Seguchi!
More guests are being added, and the event will also feature an independent horror film fest, the Silver Scream Festival, which fans can attend free of charge with their con tickets.
