Director Chris Smith Taking a Detour to Terror

Director Chris Smith (Black Death, Triangle, Creep, Severance) has knocked it out of the park with his previous genre films, and we expect his latest one to do just the same! Ready for your first word on his next project?

According to Screen Daily Smith is developing Detour, a US-based road movie thriller with elements of film noir. The film will be “a modern re-spin on the film noir genre with a structural shake-up…. It’s about how one decision can carve two entirely separate destinies.

Smith has just finished up his second draft of the script, and the movie will center around a road trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. Look for more soon!

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

  1. Severance was in my eyes one of the best horror films of the last decade.
Can’t say I liked Smith’s other films much, but at least he doesn’t keep going over the same old ground, how many other directors (in any genre) can you say that about?

  2. The concept leaves me cold but anything Smith gets behind has my immediate attention and will receive my theatrical/blu ray bucks.
