When horror fans hear the name Mick Garris, they’ll probably each immediately think of something different that he’s done. Perhaps it’s Critters 2. Maybe it’s the TV mini-series for The Stand. But for others, it’s the Showtime anthology horror series “Masters of Horror”, which had two seasons running from 2005 to 2006. The series featured episodes directed by some of the largest names in horror, including Dario Argento, Stuart Gordon, Lucky McKee, Takashi Miike, Brad Anderson, Joe Dante, John Carpenter, and more.

Speaking about the concept of anthology horror in today’s world versus what he is used to, Mick Garris tells Nerdist, “Now, ‘anthology’ means the same cast for one season story arc on a series, like “American Horror Story” and it’ll be a totally different story arc next season. But for me, I was raised on “The Twilight Zone” and “The Outer Limits” and “Tales from the Crypt”; I want a different story every time.

Garris also revealed to the site that a new anthology horror film is already deep into production, although he won’t reveal anything about it. “I’m working on putting together an anthology movie that will be coming together very soon,” he explains. “It’s kind of secret right now but we are well into it and just making something I think, for genre fans of which I count myself one, will be very, very happy with and excited about.

Alright horror fans, how hyped are you for a new anthology horror from Mick Garris? The man has clearly shown how passionate he is for horror, so getting something new from him might well be one of the more exciting and entertaining genre releases we’ve seen in a while!
