Jackie Earle HaleyWhile fans have been hanging on eagerly awaiting news that Tim Burton and Johnny Depp have officially started work on their take on the classic vampire soap opera Dark Shadows, it’s easy to forget that, well, there are other people that need to be involved.

According to Deadline Jackie Earle Haley (pictured right) is in talks to play Willie Loomis in Dark Shadows, the Tim Burton-directed horror film for Warner Bros. based on the 1960’s TV soap that will star Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins. At the same time sources say that Bella Heathcote (“Neighbors”) is the choice to play Victoria Winters, the young governess of the Collins estate.

Seth Grahame-Smith will be writing and Johnny Depp is attached to star and produce with Graham King’s GK Flms. Depp had obtained feature rights “Dark Shadows” in 2007 from the estate of Dan Curtis, the producer/director who created “Dark Shadows.” The series aired on weekdays on ABC from 1966 to 1971 with 1,225 episodes.
