For years Scream Factory has been doling out the classics in grand fashion, but word has come that they’re now seeking out even more original content. The company has acquired worldwide rights to the Untitled Shulman Horror Project, writer-director Kevin Shulman’s new feature film, and we have the official details below.

From the Press Release:
Shout! Factory, a multi-platform media company, has acquired worldwide rights to writer/director Kevin Shulman’s new feature film, now known as the Untitled Shulman Horror Project, starring Eoin Macken (Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, NBC’s “The Night Shift”), Kristina Klebe (Dementia, Proxy, Halloween), Bill Moseley (House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects), Faran Tahir (Iron Man, Star Trek, Escape Plan), and William Forsythe (The Rock, The Bronx Bull, Raising Arizona). The film is developed, produced, and co-financed by Jeremy M. Rosen and Kevin Shulman for Roxwell Films, and co-financed and executive produced by Shout! Factory for its horror genre entertainment imprint, Scream Factory Films. The announcement was made by Shout! Factory’s founders Richard Foos, Bob Emmer, and Garson Foos.

Kevin Shulman directs the film from a screenplay that he co-wrote with his brother, Nathaniel Shulman. Jeremy M. Rosen and Kevin Shulman are producing under their Roxwell Films banner. Executive producers are Richard Foos, Bob Emmer, Garson Foos, Jordan Fields, Gus Krieger, Scott Adler, and Gary Lawrence. The co-executive producer is Kristina Klebe. Untitled Shulman Horror Project is a production of Scream Factory Films, Roxwell Films, and Axiom 8.

The story is about a well-known reporter who is held captive by terrorists who are threatening to behead her. However, they have no idea what terror awaits them.

“Jeremy and Kevin brought us an utterly unique, edgy, and terrifying script as well as an exciting cast. We’re eager to help them realize their twisted vision and share it with soon-to-need-therapy fans worldwide,” said Jordan Fields, Shout’s Vice President of Acquisitions and Film Development.

As Kevin Shulman puts it, “Visceral horror, coupled with political commentary, elevates the genre. In this day and age there is nothing scarier than terrorism and the news.”

Principal photography for Untitled Shulman Horror Project has commenced on location in and around Los Angeles. Shout! Factory is handling worldwide sales and distribution.

Stay tuned for more as it comes.
