Stephen King’s The Dead Zone Getting an Audiobook Adaptation with James Franco

I’ve never tried out audiobooks as I don’t find myself in a place where I would really benefit from them. That being said, I know a lot of people who absolutely adore them and listen to them whenever they get the chance.
Now horror fans will get their chance to hear Stephen King’s The Dead Zone adapted for the first time into this medium when it’s released on April 25th via Simon & Schuster.
Here’s the cool part: The audiobook is being narrated by James Franco, who starred in the Hulu adaptation of King’s book 11.22.63. King seemed rather taken by Franco’s performance, telling EW, “James is a terrific actor. I knew that he would perfectly capture the vibe and voice of The Dead Zone.”
The Dead Zone was adapted into a film starring Christopher Walken and Brooke Adams in 1983. You can pre-order the audiobook from Amazon now.
Synopsis:
Johnny Smith awakens from a five-year coma after his car accident and discovers that he can see people’s futures and pasts when he touches them. Many consider his talent a gift; Johnny feels cursed. His fiancée married another man during his coma, and people clamor for him to solve their problems.
When Johnny has a disturbing vision after he shakes the hand of an ambitious and amoral politician, he must decide if he should take drastic action to change the future.
