ParamountParamount’s tale of trick or treating gone horribly awry, Fun Size, has a director. Let’s hope he comes with nuts and isn’t just plain vanilla.

According to The Hollywood Reporter TV showrunner Josh Schwartz (“Chuck”, “Gossip Girl”) will make his feature directing debut with Fun Size, a teen comedy that his Fake Empire shingle is developing for Paramount.

Paramount picked up Fun Size as a comedy spec from “The Colbert Report” writer Max Werner that is being described as a cross between Superbad and Adventures in Babysitting that is set on Halloween.

I grew up on John Hughes films and miss those great character-based comedies that make you feel something. ‘Fun Size’ is about real characters who are smart, funny, and a little bit offbeat,” says Werner of the project.

Shooting is scheduled for April 4 in St. Louis, MO.
