The Belko Experiment Plans to Celebrate National Employee Appreciation Day…Hopefully Without Bloodshed

This Friday is National Employee Appreciation Day, which is always celebrated on the first Friday of every March. To honor the people that work so hard for companies and businesses, The Belko Experiment has teamed up with Alamo Drafthouse to host free screenings of the film nationwide on Friday, which they plan on following with a live stream conversation with filmmakers James Gunn and Greg McLean as well as stars Tony Goldwyn and John C. McGinley.

For those of you who aren’t near an Alamo Drafthouse (such as myself), there’s another option for you to have some fun. The Belko VR – Escape Room Experience is going to be released as a free-to-play title on Steam and is based on themes within the film. It challenges players to solve a series of puzzles so they can escape their office before a chip in their head explodes. You’ll need either an HTC Vive or Oculus Rift in order to play the game, neither of which I own. Looks like I’ll just go that holiday without being appreciated!

Look for The Belko Experiment, which was directed by Greg McLean and written by James Gunn, in theaters on March 17th courtesy of Orion Releasing and BH Tilt.

The film stars John Gallagher, Jr. (“The Newsroom,” 10 Cloverfield Lane), Adria Arjona (“True Detective”), Tony Goldwyn (“Scandal”), John C. McGinley (Stan Against Evil, “Scrubs”), Josh Brener (“Silicon Valley”), Michael Rooker (“The Walking Dead,” Guardians of the Galaxy), Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy), and Melonie Diaz (Fruitvale Station).

Synopsis:
The Belko Experiment explores a twisted social experiment, in which a group of 80 Americans are locked in their high-rise corporate office in Bogata, Colombia, and ordered by an unknown voice coming from the company’s intercom system to participate in a deadly game of kill or be killed.
