Mutant Chronicles director Simon Hunter is a very busy filmmaker. With projects like Safe House starring Lena Heady, Curve, and Full Moon Fever (replacing Renny Harlin, who was attached back in 2004) in various stages of development, you would think that he wouldn’t have time to take on another project.

Well, you would be thinking wrong.

According to the official Simon Hunter website, Simon has teamed up with producing partner Tim Dennison to direct Andy Brigg’s screenplay, The Obituary. The story tells of a series of murders that are foretold in the obituary columns of the daily newspaper. Tim Dennison will produce with an as yet unconfirmed international co-producing partner.

As for Full Moon Fever, an adaptation of Joe Casey’s comic series, the pic is set in the not-too-distant future. A group of blue-collar workers is sent to repair the deserted first lunar base on the dark side of the moon; they soon discover they’re not alone as they fall prey to a pack of ravenous werewolves. “It’s a real high concept fun movie,” reports Simon. “Think of it as Dog Soldiers in space!

Look for more on these projects we’re sure sooner rather than later.
