Bell Plays the Devil

Published

on

Tobin Bell signs on to play Old Scratch in Highway 61Though it’s not a horror movie, in fact as one would assume it’s actually a comedy, it’s always good to hear about Tobin Bell getting some non-Jigsaw related work.

Variety announced this morning that Bell has signed on to play the devil in Luke & Jeremy Jackson’s Highway 61, the story of a struggling rock group who attempt to make a deal with the devil at the Mississippi crossroads junction made famous by bluesman Robert Johnson. And, of course, Ralph Machio in the underrated 1986 rock ‘n roll tale Crossroads.

Filming is going down in Idaho, Utah and LA according to the trade. I guess Mississippi is too expensive to shoot in? Weird. As soon as we find out more, so will you!

Will Director Andrew Stanton Return for STRANGER THINGS 3?

Published

on

Monday we brought you the killer news that the third season of Netflix’s original series Stranger Things had begun filming and today we have more updates!

First off, the new season will run 8-episodes with producer Shawn Levy telling Collider Stranger Things 3 will be back down to the original season’s 8-episode run, following season two’s 10-episodes.

Levy also let us know if Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo, Wall-E) will be back in the director’s chair this season…and it doesn’t look like it… Weak.

No, you know what,” Levy said. “We had some schedule issues trying to figure out how to bring Andrew back, because we were beyond thrilled with him as a human being and his episodes. So the only answer I can give you today is it’s not Stanton, though we very much hope to keep him in the director club of Stranger Things as we move on to other seasons.”

Stanton is one of my favorite directors so this news kinda bums me out. What do you think? Make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

Strangers Things seasons 1 & 2 are currently streaming on Netflix.

Death Line:
When a prominent politician and a beautiful young woman vanish inside a London subway station, Scotland Yard’s Inspector Calhoun (Donald Pleasence of Halloween) investigates and makes a horrifying discovery. Not only did a group of 19th century tunnel workers survive a cave-in, but they lived for years in a secret underground enclave by consuming the flesh of their own dead. Now the lone descendant of this grisly tribe has surfaced, prowling the streets for fresh victims… and a new mate.

Deathdream:
In this shattering variation on The Monkey’s Paw, grief-stricken suburban parents (Academy Award nominees John Marley of The Godfather and Lynn Carlin of Faces) refuse to accept the news that their son, Andy (Richard Backus), has been killed in Vietnam. But when Andy returns home soon after, something may be horribly wrong: Andy is alive and well… or is he? Produced and directed by Bob Clark (Black Christmas) and written by Alan Ormsby (Deranged), Deathdream was one of the very first films to confront the domestic ravages of the Vietnam War. More than forty years later, it remains one of the most chilling horror films of all time.
