Sad news is coming out of the Great White North as The Toronto Star has announced that character actor Chris Wiggins, who played occult expert Jack Marshak in the “Friday the 13th” TV series, has passed on.

Wiggins was born in Blackpool, England, in 1931 and died on February 19th in Elora, Ontario, after a struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 87.

Though he’s best remembered for being the coolest researcher on the planet in the spin-off show, Wiggins appeared and lent his wonderful voice to many great projects such as The NeverEnding Story, “Tales from the Cryptkeeper,” “The Care Bears Family,” “Swiss Family Robinson,” and even “Babar.”

We here at Dread Central would like to extend our sincere condolences to Wiggins’ friends, family members, and constituents. Thank you sincerely, sir, for all the cold chills and warm smiles. You will be missed.

Chris Wiggins
