The director of Chopping Mall, Return of Swamp Thing, Dinocroc vs. Supergator, and Cleavagefield is back with his newest creature feature kill-a-thon, and this time no one is safe from an invasion of mutant Middle Eastern Camel Spiders, not even C. Thomas Howell or Brian Krause.
Based on actual creatures that for years have tormented our armed forces in the Middle East, these things have invaded the Southwestern deserts of the United States. The Camel Spiders now freely hunt for prey, unafraid of any predator – including man. No place is safe; no one is beyond their paralyzing sting. In the end a small band of hearty fighters are forced to make one last stand against them.
Cinetel is the company behind Camel Spiders, no doubt due for Syfy Saturday nightdom sometime later this year.
Wynorski gave Undead Backbrain the exclusive teaser trailer for this creepy crawly creature feature. I personally tend to be a bit on the arachnophobic side, but nothing I see in this trailer left me feeling skittish. Possibly because the tone favors silly b-movie fun over horror; possibly because the spider FX are often equally silly looking.
