You know, if aliens ever do decide to invade our planet, I sure hope they make it as cool as the invasion of the aliens in Earth Defense Force 5. A new trailer’s been dropped that shows everything from flying saucers, dinosaurs, giant bugs, and frogs the size of of office buildings making mincemeat of the cities of Japan. For added effect, the entire trailer’s presented in the form of an emergency news broadcast, and even fades into static when one of the reporters gets eaten.
If you played any of the other Earth Defense Force games you’ll be familiar with how they perfectly invoke the spirit of classic giant monster B-movies, something that 5 looks like it will excel at when it arrives on PS4 this year.
