UPDATE: Glee’s Heather Morris for Buffy Remake?

Heather MorrisWith all the recent developments surrounding the proposed Buffy the Vampire Slayer remake swirling about (Did Whedon pass? Was Whedon screwed?), it was only a matter of time before casting rumors began. Speaking of which …

According to our friends over at MovieWeb “Glee” star Heather Morris (pictured right) is being heavily considered for the lead role of everyone’s favorite slayer, a role made famous by both Kristy Swanson and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Morris has proved on “Glee” that she has the right comedic timing for the character, and her background as a dancer and gymnast could totally sell her for the physical aspects of the character. Again, at this point nothing is official, and we’re still a bit of a ways off before official casting comes to light. Still … not a bad choice.

In this new reboot, Buffy will no longer be in high school but instead facing the same hardships that a lot of young college graduates have today in struggling to find a paying job and a healthy relationship.

Update
The Hollywood Reporter has debunked the rumor. Both Warner Brothers and even screenwriter Whit Anderson denied the rumor and stated that they haven’t even begun thinking about casting.
