Trailer for Los Elementales Proves that CGI Sucks in Chile Too

Yep, there’s just nothing like really bad CGI to snap you directly out of whatever mood or fun has been created by a film. The trailer for Chilean monster flick Los Elementales is total proof of that.
The second feature film from director Jorge Olguin actually looked pretty damned good before the fake beasties reared their painted on faces. See for yourself below, and think of the world of difference practical effects could have made here.
The flick is set to open in Chilean theatres in late 2011. There’s plenty of time, guys. Put this bun back in the oven and invest in latex. Dig on the translated plot crunch as well as the recently released trailer below.
Synopsis
Los Elementales recounts the odyssey of an American geologist who goes to the south of Chile accompanied by a preteen daughter obsessed with the paranormal. She, who enjoys the strange happenings, encounters a haunted house inhabited by “beings”; among them are gnomes, elves, and fairies.”
