You know your TV show has made it once the fan art starts rolling in, and AMC’s “The Walking Dead” is no exception. Not to mention that you can also consider it a hit when the ratings for Episode 5 surpass those for the premiere by a solid 300,000 viewers.

Yep, in case there was any doubt, per Deadline Hollywood: The zombie craze continues [and] we can safely say that “The Walking Dead”‘s first season finale next week will do gangbuster ratings. The penultimate fifth episode of the AMC zombie drama last night drew 5.6 million viewers, a series high, besting the series’ monster premiere that averaged 5.3 million. In adults 18-49, the series, which has already been renewed for Season 2, attracted 3.7 million viewers, also a record.

To celebrate, here are two awesome examples of fan art for “The Walking Dead”, the first from Andrew Kolb and the second from Doctor Popular.
