First Info on The Absent Brings the Goods

Though slasher movies may seem like a dime a dozen, the good ones are especially hard to locate. Every once in a while though, we get wind of one that looks like it could really deliver. This is one of those cases!

Below you’ll find the first still, trailer, and poster art (which totally echoes the slasher flicks of days gone by) for Sage Bannick’s The Absent.

The flick was produced by Chris Sivertson (The Lost), Ari Bernstein, Lorna Paul and Sage Bannick, while Mike Josten (Night of the Demons) executive produces. Look for it in limited theatrical release on January 7th with a DVD release to follow soon afterwards.

The Absent centers on Vincent, a high school teacher forced to choose between career and a love affair with Katie, one of his students. The pressure mounts when his twin brother, Oscar, returns to town after serving 25 years in jail for killing their parents. One by one Katie’s friends disappear, prompting the local Sheriff to target Vincent as the number one suspect. Vincent knows his brother is involved, but is unable to catch him in the act until the final scene. By then it is too late. The hunter becomes the hunted.

Dig it!
