The Weinstein Brothers were sniffing around Cannes this year to find more horror-esque properties they could scoop up and more than likely fuck with before release. But of course they’re looking at their own properties, as well, and the CG-animated Igor is no exception.
The film, which we last mentioned here, is about the titular mad scientist assistant who dreams of winning the Evil Science Fair and the lengths he goes to to make that happen. It’s supposed to be a good time for kids and adults alike featuring the voices of John Cusack, Jeremy Piven and Molly Shannon.
According to Variety, the Brothers announced that a sequel is already in the works, and that Igor is one of many new CG-animated films they’ll be developing with the Exodus Film Group, who were behind the 2006 release Hoodwinked.
Even though it’s out in a few months the stills from it are limited to what you see here so far, but we’ll have more for you soon. Just hope that the Brothers stayed a safe distance from this as it was developing and maybe it’ll be worth our time!
