New Viral and Behind-the-Scenes Clip – Battle: Los Angeles

With Skyline being even worse than we ever could have imagined, fans are now looking, hoping, and praying to Jonathan Liebesman’s Battle: Los Angeles to deliver quality Earth vs the Aliens type carnage.

Judging by the latest behind-the-scenes clip that has surfaced on YouTube shot by a couple of Louisiana locals as they drove through the set carnage is exactly what we’re going to get.

Dig on that and a brand new viral video below. Thanks to eagle-eyed DC reader Avery for the heads-up.

Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Michael Pena, and Bridget Moynahan all star. Look for it in theatres on March 11th, 2011.

For years, there have been documented cases of UFO sightings around the world – Buenos Aires, Seoul, France, Germany, China. But in 2011, what were once just sightings will become a terrifying reality when Earth is attacked by unknown forces. As people everywhere watch the world’s great cities fall, Los Angeles becomes the last stand for mankind in a battle no one expected. It’s up to a Marine staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and his new platoon to draw a line in the sand as they take on an enemy unlike any they’ve ever encountered before.

I know there’s some buzz around this one,but this looks like a retread of Independence Day or War of the Worlds to me. Nothing I saw in that trailer seemed to be particularly original and the visuals, while well crafted, are essentially just riffing on effects I’ve already seen done just as well on numerous occasions. Unless the film concludes on a dark note with the invaders victorious, I don’t see how his will be substantially different from any other Earth VS ET’s flick.
