We’ve all been waiting patiently for Stevan Mena’s follow up to his 2004 slasher flick Malevolence to arrive, and now finally via this latest trailer for Bereavement a release date has indeed surfaced!
You’ll notice at the trailer’s end it says “In Theaters February 2011”. While we don’t know yet if that’s firm or even what date in February this will take place, at least it’s something to look forward to.
“BEREAVEMENT is a very, very different film from the first one. The only way to describe it is like an epic horror story,” said Mena in an early interview. “It’s more in the vein of THE SHINING, whereas the original was kind of like HALLOWEEN or FRIDAY THE 13TH. BEREAVEMENT is more of a character study than MALEVOLENCE was.”
