Fox and Scott Circling Star for Alien Prequel(s)

Who in the world can fill the shoes left by Sigourney Weaver in the upcoming Alien prequels from Fox and director Ridley Scott? The list of names is long, but it looks as if the team behind the films are finally zeroing in on someone.

According to Deadline New York 20th Century Fox and director Ridley Scott have just about completed meetings with actresses to find the Ripley-like heroine for the 3D Alien prequel. The site is reporting that, so far, Scott’s favorite is The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo star Noomi Rapace. The other names being whispered range from Carey Mulligan to Abbie Cornish, Natalie Portman and Tron: Legacy star Olivia Wilde, the latter of whom met this week.

Look for some definitive answer soon. Whom would YOU pick? Tell us below!

Noomi’s a genuine badass. If anyone’s gonna take the throne from Sigourney, it’d be her.

I vote they write a script that doesn’t include the now cliched ‘strong female hero’.

It was fresh back in the day when movies like Alien and Day of the Dead did it, but now there have been thousands of them. Worse, as the years have gone on all of these women have been stripped of any aspects of femininity; the characters are now women playing men. Maybe they’re better to look at (though they work hard to strip them of curves too) but they don’t ever behave like women in any way shape or form.

Good examples of this can be found in movies like Resident Evil, Underworld etc… The last movie with believable and interesting female heroes I’ve seen was The Descent.

Noomi gets my vote for sure. She can act … and kick ass!

      Noomi or noone!

Same here, Noomi deserves the part! She would rock that role!
