New Spanish Import The Valdemar Legacy Praises Cthulhu

We live in a world in which Catholics, Muslims, Jews, etc., are constantly at odds, leading one to wonder why we can’t just have one universal belief, say … Cthulhuism! The elder god has enough arms to hold everyone tightly in his cradle of fear and love, does he not?

Either way Spanish horror fans who really dig on the works of H.P. Lovecraft are enjoying a little film from writer/director Jose Luis Aleman called The Valdemar Legacy, which we are praying gets here soon. Imagina International Sales is taking the movie to AFM so let’s hope it finds some domestic distro.

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

Lovecraft is truly difficult to translate to the screen. Very few directors have had any success and those that have (Gordon, O’Bannon) seem more ‘inspired’ by the stories than trying to put them up there word for word.

Kudos to anyone who’s willing to take a shot at giving us Lovecraftian horror.
