Producer Mark Canton Ready to Play Dead

The producer of Land of the Dead is readying a new zombie flick along with Lucky VIII Films that will bring shambling creatures to the football field for some Friday Night Frights!
According to Variety newly minted Lucky VIII has acquired Ryan Brown’s debut novel Play Dead and has tapped novelist-screenwriter Joe Schreiber to adapt it for the big screen. Canton (300) is producing via his Atmosphere Entertainment shingle.
Play Dead centers on zombies bent on revenge in a football-obsessed town. When a high school football team is murdered by a rival team, a local witch brings the dead players back to life as zombies so they can trounce their rivals in one last game and save their own souls …
