R-Rated Horror Rules the Box Office! Paranormal Activity 2 Explodes!

Horror fans made one hell of a statement this weekend at theatres that should hopefully convince the big studios that genre flicks can do well with an R rating instead of a PG-13.
Paranormal Activity 2 took in an estimated $41.5 million on 3,216 screens, one of the best openings for a horror film of all time, beating out Warner’s recent remake of Friday the 13th, which opened to $40.6 million.
Let’s just hope this upswing in box office for the genre continues next weekend when Saw 3D sends limbs flying at the audience. We’re pulling for you, Jigsaw! Please go out with style, old friend.
