Golden-GlobeDespite the abundance of great horror TV shows currently airing, only one managed to land nominations during today’s announcement of the 2017 Golden Globe Awards nominees: the much beloved “Stranger Things.”

Even more shocking… former GG darling “American Horror Story” came up empty-handed. And in the movie categories, the genre was overlooked completely.

So, what did we get?

“Stranger Things” landed two noms: Best Television Series – Drama, where it’s competing with the likes of “Game of Thrones” and “Westworld” on the fantasy and sci-fi side of things, and Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama for Winona Ryder. Also getting a nod for “Westworld” are Evan Rachel Wood in the same category as Winona along with Thandie Newton for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television (where you’ll also find Lena Headey for “Game of Thrones”).

And that is it for the horror side of the fence. For the full list of nominees, visit GoldenGlobes.com, and be sure to watch the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards hosted by Jimmy Fallon live on NBC on January 8, 2017, at 8pm ET (5pm PT).
