Look for Scream 4 in theatres on April 15th, 2011, and to stay on top of things, be sure to follow @wescraven on Twitter.

Scream 4 Synopsis
The horror series that reignited the genre and grossed more than $500 million worldwide is back! From Kevin Williamson, creator of the original Scream trilogy, the new film sees the return of cast members Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette along with a group of new stars, who can all hopefully stay alive long enough to figure out the new rules to this one-of-a-kind horror franchise!

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

C’mon DC, it was just admitted that ‘My Soul to Take’ wasn’t good.

Why is there a single reason to believe Scream 4 will be?

    • Uncle Creepy

Again dude … the jury is out until the final product is seen.

    • Masked Slasher

Because Wes Craven has NEVER been a consistent director.

If this were the early 80s, you might’ve said, “why should we think A Nightmare on Elm Street was any good? Have you seen Invitation to Hell?”

This is the guy who made Deadly Friend after Nightmare on Elm Street but then still went on to make some pretty damn good films again.

Unlike Carpenter, Romero and Argento (who I think each have a pretty impressive winning streak throughout their careers), Craven is all over the place.

Scream 4 may well be awful. But the slasher fanatic in me is hoping its a homerun. That’s all we can do at this point is hope.

True, he hasn’t ever been consistent and some of his films are absolutely winners.

But it has been a long time since he created a winner and in that time he has been responsible for some truly terrible films. Not misfires, outright crap.

Since Scream 4 is a studio driven franchise film designed to tick all the right boxes (nostalgia, cast, meeting expectations) I expect even less creativity will be demonstrated in his most recent outing.

If I’m wrong I owe you a pie.

Discussing a franchises worldwide gross is no way to explain the synopsis of an upcoming sequel.
