Guillermo del Toro to Ride the Pacific Rim to Godzilla?

Now here’s an interesting bit of news! There’s no question nothing goes down easier than a good old fashioned monster mash, and damnit, we haven’t had one in a long while. Could that be about to change?
According to our brothers over at Latino Review the great Guillermo del Toro was offered the new film Pacific Rim from Clash of the Titans writer Travis Beacham and Legendary Films.
Rim, set in a future in which malevolent creatures threaten the earth and the planet must band together and use highly advanced technology to eradicate the growing menace, was originally reported to be the basis for the new Godzilla flick. But that is not so – del Toro contacted Latino Review personally to let them know they are indeed two separate movies.
Personally we take this as good news because as far as we’re concerned, the more monster movies, the better! Look for more on both of these flicks soon!
