Visionary director Vincenzo Natali is nearing his next project, and while not exactly the usual horror sci-fi goodies we’re used to from the man, we’re sure it’ll still pack enough punch to satisfy genre fans. Especially since the great Richard Stanley is penning the screenplay!
According to Bleeding Cool the man behind both Hardware and Dust Devil is working with Natali (pictured right) on an adaptation of the book High Rise by J. G. Ballard, which tells the unnerving tale of life in a modern tower block running out of control.
Within the concealing walls of an elegant 40-story tower block, the affluent tenants are hell-bent on an orgy of destruction. Cocktail parties degenerate into marauding attacks on ‘enemy’ floors and the once-luxurious amenities become an arena for technological mayhem! Human society slips into violent reverse as the inhabitants of the high-rise, driven by primal urges, recreate a world ruled by the laws of the jungle.
We’ll keep an eye on this one for sure!
