Directing the After.Life

Writer/director Agnieszka VoslooDeath is never a fun thing to have to think about in any real terms (we talk about it in unreal terms all day, however, and it’s great fun), but imagine what it must be like when you’re no longer alive but not fully dead either.

That frightening proposition is brought to un-life in a new movie being set up at Constellation Entertainment called After.Life (yes, the period is there in the title). The Hollywood Reporter has announced that newcomer Agnieszka Vosloo (pictured) has just signed on to make her feature-length directorial debut with the film; production is set to begin in earnest this winter.

After.Life, as the trade reports, tells of a young woman in the transitional state between life and death who has to avoid being buried alive and deal with the funeral director who holds her fate in his hands. Not really a feel-good story, is it? Vosloo previously won all sorts of awards for her short film “Pate”, which showed at Cannes a few years ago. Keep it here for more soon!
