Trailer Debut – Death Race: Frankenstein Lives

For those of you salivating for a chance to get your first look at the prequel to Paul W.S. Anderson’s remake of Death Race (we know you sickos are out there), wipe your mouths! Universal released the trailer today!
In the prequel director Roel Reiné will be working from a script penned by Tony Giglio, which is once again set at Terminal Island, where a man named Carl “Luke” Lucas enters the titular game. Essentially it’s a look at a previous “Frankenstein” before Anderson’s film put Jason Statham into the boots of the character. It stars Luke Goss, Tanit Phoenix, Sean Bean, Ving Rhames, Danny Trejo, Frederick Koehler and Lauren Cohan. It will be released straight to DVD and Blu-Ray (no official date yet).

Synopsis
“Death Race 2 takes place in the very near future, as the United States economy begins to decline and violent crime starts to spiral out of control. To contain the growing criminal population, a vast network of for-profit, private prisons springs up, creating a lawless subculture ruled by gangs, cold-blooded killers and sociopaths. The worst of these prisons is Terminal Island. Convicted cop-killer Carl Lucas arrives on the Island to serve his life sentence just as ruthlessly ambitious television personality September Jones launches the ultimate reality show, Death Race.
