If you’re looking for a few laughs this Halloween and are a fan of the “Mystery Science Theater 3000” alumni now doing “Rifftrax”, you may be happy to hear Rifftrax will once again be broadcasting live in select theaters around the country October 28th for a spooktacular riffing of the William Castle cult classic House on Haunted Hill starring the legendary Vincent Price.
NCM Fathom and the stars of Mystery Science Theater 3000 invite you to a haunted house party like none you’ve ever experienced. RiffTrax‘s own Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett will be back for an evening of hilarious riffing on the horror classic House on Haunted Hill! On Thursday, October 28, the guys treat this Vincent Price classic to their signature brand of rapid-fire comedy. Comedian Paul F. Tompkins will join them as a guest riffer on a classic, never-before-seen short!
Movie theater audiences will receive FREE digital goodies after the show. A URL will be revealed on-screen during the event so you can logon and receive your free digital goodies!
The event will be broadcast live to movie theaters nationwide on October 28 at 8:00pm ET / 7:00pm CT / 6:00pm MT and 8:00pm PT (tape delay).
As much as I have enjoyed the two Rifftrax Live theatrical shows I have attended, I really do wish they would get some fresh material to riff on rather than expecting fans to pay over $10 to attend a live show recycling a film they have already released on DVD. They did that recently with Reefer Madness, and now they’re doing it again. A special edition of a colorized version of House of Haunted Hill put out by Rifftrax was released in the summer of 2009 and can probably be purchased for a cheaper price than it would cost to attend the live broadcast. Doesn’t strike me as good business practice, especially around the sacred holiday of Halloween.
