This time of year used to be the hottest for gaming news. E3 would have been going on right now if it hadn’t been all downsized and moved, and we’d be flooded with information about sweet looking video games.
Well, SEGA – bless them – decided to have a little event anyways, and amongst the announcements was the long-awaited confirmation that Condemned 2: Bloodshot is on its way to the Xbox 360 and the PS3.
Developed once again by Monolith Productions, Condemned 2 is giving us another mêlée heavy journey into the world of psychopaths and criminals we first visited in late 2005 along with an all new multi-player mode, which is promising to deliver the most brutal hand-to-hand combat experience the first person genre has seen.
We’ll be back in the shoes of Ethan Thomas, now on duty at the serial crimes unit, this time trying to track down his former partner.
The murders are apparently going to be solvable in a number of different ways, so hopefully that means the crime scene investigations won’t be quite so linear and hand-holding.
Condemned was an experience quite unlike anything else with its brutal violence and choking atmosphere, and another trip to that insane world should be most welcomed by those who played the original and even those who didn’t.
When we hear more about the game, we’ll be sure to let you know.
