Are you excited for “Supernatural”‘s new season? We certainly are! After five brilliant seasons with showrunner Erik Kripke, we can’t wait to see what his successor, Sera Gamble, has cooked up for us fans. Even though The CW moved “Supernatural” to Friday nights, which is traditionally a Nielsen ratings wasteland, we’re sure fans will follow the show no matter where it goes. My DVR has been set and confirmed.
Returning for its sixth season, “Supernatural” series follows Sam and Dean Winchester (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, respectively), two brothers bound by tragedy and blood to their dangerous, other-worldly mission. This past season Dean and Sam faced their toughest foe yet: the Devil himself. As the Apocalypse raged on around them, the brothers, aided only by a dwindling band of fellow hunters and rebel angel Castiel (Misha Collins), sought a way to stop Lucifer and save the planet. Ultimately, they discovered a way to force Lucifer back into Hell and end the Apocalypse – but at tremendous cost: Sam’s life.
Synopsis for Season 6 Premiere Episode “Exile on Main Street”:
It’s a year later, and Dean (Ackles) has given up hunting and is living with Lisa (guest star Cindy Sampson) and her son, Ben (guest star Nicholas Elia). Mysteriously freed from his cage in hell, Sam (Padalecki) finds Dean and tells him he needs to rejoin the fight and introduces Dean to a world — a family — he never even knew existed: the Campbells, his mother’s family, lead by none other than their Grandfather Samuel (Mitch Pileggi). Phil Sgrricia directed the episode written by Sera Gamble.
