With the award-winning faux documentary The Midnight Swim hitting DVD today from Candy Factory Films, we have an exclusive clip from the film to share.

Sarah Adina Smith’s The Midnight Swim (review) captured awards from AFI Fest and the Denver Int’l., Starz Denver, and Sun Valley Film Festivals, among others. It stars Lindsay Burdge, Jennifer Lafleur, Aleksa Palladino, and Ross Partridge.

Synopsis:
Spirit Lake is unusually deep. No diver has ever managed to find the bottom, though many have tried. When Dr. Amelia Brooks (Beth Grant) disappears during a deep-water dive, her three daughters — sensible Annie (Lafleur), quiet June (Burdge), and exuberant Isa (Palladino) — travel home to settle her affairs. They, however, find themselves unable to let go of their mother and become drawn into the mysteries of the mysterious lake.

Enabled by an old friend from the neighborhood, Josh (Partridge), they invoke the spirits of the Seven Sisters from folklore derived from Greek mythology. And when the unexplainable begins to occur, the psychodrama becomes “a chiller with one foot in that genre and one in a whole other, and wonderful, place.”
