We’ve been talking about Jeremy Benson’s Girl in Woods for a while now so you should have it on your radar, and in honor of the film’s release on DVD today by Candy Factory Films, we have an exclusive clip to share.

Girl in Woods (review) stars Juliet Reeves (Automaton Transfusion; Zombies, Zombies, Zombies!), Charisma Carpenter (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Angel,” The Expendables), Jeremy London (Mallrats, “Party of Five”), Lee Perkins (Foxcatcher, KatieBird), and John Still (Hustle and Flow, Live Animals) and introduces Shaun Elizabeth as Little Grace.

In this latest thriller from the director of Shutter and Live Animals, the titular “Girl” must battle nature and her own demons for her survival and sanity in a deserted part of the Appalachian Mountains.

Synopsis:
A dreadful event from her youth has left Grace Walker (Reeves) mentally scarred.  Now, these suppressed memories only surface in her dreams as fragmented nightmares that leave her shaking in a cold sweat.  With the help and love of her boyfriend, Jim (London), and daily medication, she’s able to live a normal life and seal off her past.  That seal is shattered when, while taking a hike through the mountains, a tragic accident leaves Grace stranded to face the merciless elements.  Struggling against the rugged terrain, her fight for survival becomes more terrifying when she realizes that something inhuman is now stalking her through the woods.

As starvation and the grueling elements begin to take their toll, Grace is confronted by frightening memories that threaten to consume her mind and sanity.  It’s only after she’s forced to make a ghastly choice that leaves her emotionally stunned and horrified that Grace is able to face the fragmented memories of Momma (Charisma Carpenter) and Daddy (Lee Perkins).  And as past and present merge, Grace finds a gruesome key to survival hidden in the forgotten past, though using it may change her forever.
