Vampires and Giant Monsters Collide in Higanjima: Deluxe

If you haven’t seen the fantastic Japanese vampire movie Higanjima – Escape From Vampire Island yet, then what the hell are you waiting for? Go and watch that shit immediately! It even has a giant skeleton dragon thing in it.
It was based on a manga series by Kōji Matsumoto, which was given a second live-action film adaptation in the form of Higanjima: Deluxe, which opened in Japan last week on October 15. Directed by Takeshi Watanabe, the trailer has sword battles, giant monsters, and vampires feasting on blood, so it looks just as damn crazy as the first film. We sure as hell want to see this so we’ll let you know if we hear about an international release.
The help promote the film, an animated web series set in the universe of the series was launched on Youtube, and you can see the first episode below. Each installment is essentially a self-contained story so don’t worry about catching up if you jump in later on.
