Monsters Run Amok in Trailers for UK Indie Creature Feature The Last Man

Yes, we love us some monsters, and first-time director Alex Murray just wrote in to make us aware of his latest creature flick from the UK, an indie opus with some teeth called The Last Man.

“I began writing The Last Man back in the winter of 2007, a process that took the better part of a year,” says Murray. “During that time I was sitting down at my computer looking at the screen with a beer in my hands and deep desire in my soul: to make a compelling British indie creature horror.”

Murray continues, “February 2008. With a completed script, we started casting. We were very fortunate that the material spoke to Alice Henley, of HBO’s award winning mini-series ‘ROME’. With her on board, we quickly filled out the rest of the roles with talented newcomers, including the very talented Canadian actress Alexandra B. Harris, who amazed critics and audiences this year at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Once we had our actors in the bag, we went about putting the locations together for filming (a process which others with common sense should do much earlier on); thankfully most of the film takes place in the great English forests.”

“I’m very much from the Ridley Scott way of horror, which is the less you see, the more your imagination will fill in the blanks, and I have found my imagination to always scare me more than seeing the monster so I took this idea as far as I could and created the ‘omnipresence’, something that watches and waits and then calls all its many friends to join it in devouring its prey,” added Murray.

Check out not one, not two, but three pretty damned effective trailers for The Last Man below and look for more soon!
