Rest in Peace - Kevin McCarthyAnother star from the golden age of film is no longer with us. Kevin McCarthy, who many fans will remember from the original version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, has passed on at the ripe old age of 96.

Kevin’s career spanned decades and the man was working until the very end. Highlights included numerous television appearances such as memorable roles on “The Twilight Zone”, “Tales from the Crypt”, and “The Alfred Hitchcock Hour”. Horror movie highlights include the aforementioned leading role as Dr. Miles J. Bennell in 1956’s Body Snatchers, as well as Twilight Zone: The Movie, The Howling, the 1978 version of Piranha, and many, many, more.

The news comes straight from Kevin’s daughter, who stated that McCarthy died of natural causes on Saturday in a Cape Cod hospital. We here at Dread Central would like to take this time to offer our deepest of sympathies to Kevin’s friends, family, and constituents.

Thanks for all of the work and memories over the last six decades, sir. You will be incredibly missed.
