Some possible and insanely interesting casting news has come out of the Venice International Film Festival, where it sounds like Paramount is pulling out some big guns to star in Tommy Wirkola’s Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters.

Our good friends over at Twitch Film were on hand at the event when The Hurt Locker star Jeremy Renner dropped word that he’s up for a part in Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters, adding that he’d star as Hansel with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo‘s Noomi Rapace as Gretel!

The storyline for Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters picks up the fairy tale siblings 15 years after their traumatic gingerbread house incident, which provoked them to become witch bounty hunters.
