All right, another horror film set in an insane asylum; it’s about time that little slice of our genre made a comeback!

Just a few days after we told you about Midnight Meat Train writer Jeff Buhler’s Insanitarium (read it here), Variety has announced that Ghost House and Vertigo Entertainment have teamed up to produce Incident at Sans Asylum with Spanish helmer Daniel Calparsoro on board to direct.

The story tells of some aspiring musicians who are working as cooks at the insane asylum and become trapped there when a major thunderstorm hits. Apparently that’s the same time the inmates find their way out. And do you think that fact that they’re wannabe rock stars will somehow play into it? Like with a big musical number? One can only hope!

Thankfully Ghost House and Vertigo will mark their third collaboration (after the two Grudge films) with something that has nothing to do with a long-haired Asian girl. More as we learn it!
