Death Note: Light Up the New World Lighting Up Japan This Month

In addition to Adam Wingard’s upcoming Netflix production, we also have Death Note: Light Up the New World, which will be hitting Japanese screens on October 29. Set 10 years after the previous film, it sees the dreaded titular notebooks falling into the hands of cyber-terrorists. A three episode miniseries titled “Death Note: New Generation” was produced to help promote the film.
Director Shinsuke Sato also bought us the live-action horror manga adaptation I Am a Hero, and Masahiro Higashide, Sosuke Ikematsu and Masaki Suda star. Due to the huge popularity of the series, a US release doesn’t seem too far off. In the meantime, dig two trailers and a clip below.
