Comic Adaptation I Kill Giants Starring Zoe Saldana Begins Filming

Joe Kelly, who authored the limited comic series I Kill Giants, confirmed that the film adaptation (which he also wrote) has now begun:

I Kill Giants focuses on a girl named Barbara who prefers to spend time in the fantasy worlds of games like Dungeons & Dragons rather than in the real one. Things take an unexpected turn, however, as the monsters from her beloved escapism fantasy begin to manifest in real life.
Madison Wolfe stars as Barbara in the film, which also features Zoe Saldana and Imogen Poots, with more casting announcements likely to come our way soon.
Home Alone and Harry Potter director Chris Columbus is producing I Kill Giants, which is also Anders Walter’s directorial debut.
