Three Howling Movies Coming to One Blu-ray

Three Howling Movies Coming to One Blu-rayI know what you’re thinking … “Man I wish Howling III: The Marsupials, Howling V: The Rebirth, and Howling VI: The Freaks were available on Blu-ray.” Okay, so maybe not, but your chance to get three nearly unrelated and for the most part terrible werewolf films in high definition is just around the corner!

High Def Digest reports that Timeless Media Group has announced The Howling Trilogy is heading for a Blu-ray release on October 19th.

As stated the release contains Howling III: The Marsupials, Howling V: The Rebirth, and Howling VI: The Freaks all on a single heavily compressed disc. Specs and supplements haven’t been confirmed yet, but suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $16.98.

You know you want it! I blame Troll 2.

Ah yes, the Howling. Original was always my favorite. But out of all horror films that have sequels, this one has the spottiest record. Because the seuqels are either worse than one another.

I never liked the Howling II that much. I know it’s a bit of a cult film for some, but I could never get into it. It just felt like it crapped all over the original and felt more like a vampire film.

But, The Howling III is just so damn hilarious and stupid it’s really hard to hate it. I mean it had ballerina werewolves, nun werewolves, crazy hermits, and killing a werewolf with a bazooka and the infamous killer werewolf skeleton.

Howling IV, sure it was based more closely on the novel, but it was still poorly done.

    Howling V was……….interesting. A mild improvement.

    Howling VI was alright

Howling VII was terrible. Worse than the second. Used stock footage for some werewolf scenes that were used in the fifth one and ………..the damn country music.

Now with the Howling Reborn, I see potential since it’s semi-inspired by the third novel in some respects but that’s all a big wait and see. I first thought the plot sounded like Teen Wolf III

    “Chew on this!”

Interesting that it’s 3, 5, and 6. I guess they don’t hold the rights to 4? Anyway, I have these on DVD. Why, I don’t know. I thought 6 had some good moments. Other than that, meh…

I love all three of these flicks.

Howling III is a great film, while 5 and 6 are varying degrees of fun.

I’m all over this. All. Over. It.
