UPDATE: We’ve just added the EoD trailer to our Broadband section. Click here to check it out.
We last brought you some news on Edges of Darkness progress here; we were given a little peek into what Jason Horton and Blaine Cade’s horror anthology had in store for us. It was clear vampires would play a part in one of the three stories, but what about the other two? I recently got in touch with Jason, and he gave us the lowdown:
Edges of Darkness tells the tales of three groups of survivors in different units of the same apartment complex during a zombie apocalypse.
A vampire couple, struggling to survive with their food supply dwindling, kidnap a young girl. They intend to bleed her slowly to survive. Of course things don’t go exactly as they plan.
Dean, an obsessed horror writer is holed up with his neglected wife, Dana. Dean keeps his sanity by burying himself in his writing. He installs a new computer processor that had arrived by mail right before the apocalypse began. As he soon finds out, there’s a high price to pay for running the processor.
Heather, a survival nut, rescues a young mother and her son from a horde of zombies. She takes them back to the complex. It turns out that the mother and son are on the run from a group of renegade priests hellbent on destroying the boy.
All three tales are inter-cut and connect in a pretty cool way that I don’t want to give away. I’m very happy with the latest cut and can’t wait to get the score mixed in. I think we’ve struck a very nice balance between horror and character drama. I’m looking forward to the release.
We have a lot of interested distributors and plan to start shopping it seriously upon completion, towards the end of the month.
Thanks, Jason! He also sent along some fresh stills for you fiends to enjoy…
