Rumor Mill: Paramount's World War Z and Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters Gain TractionAround a week ago a document began floating around believed to have come from Paramount (which is yet to be confirmed) that offers a couple of quick updates regarding the status of two of the studio’s projects, World War Z and Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.

The news is relatively minor and again unconfirmed so let’s file all of this under “rumor mill” for now. Honestly, we weren’t even gonna post about it, but since it’s being considered “breaking news” just about everywhere, we have no choice but to bring it to you as well.

The document stated simply that (a) Tommy Wirkola’s Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, which catches up to the siblings turned bounty hunters fifteen years after that nasty gingerbread house business, is set to shoot this year and casting is finally being discussed and (b) the studio loves Matt Carnahan’s draft of World War Z so that one may indeed be fast tracked with Brad Pitt in the starring role.

Look for more on both of these soon, and if you haven’t read the book World War Z (review here) yet, do yourself a favor — click below and get a copy like yesterday.
